Openly affectionate towards his family, not afraid to get his hands dirty, happy to give and take credit where it's due, and charming and persuasive enough to win over a morally reluctant Badger, Mr. Fox, with the help of his four cubs, dig towards the neighbouring farms, and, from memory alone, he finds Boggis's Chicken House, Number One, Bunce's storehouse, and Bean's secret cider cellar, with enough food to feed not just his starving family, but the other woodland animals affected by the farmers' hunt. When the farmers finally corner he and his family and drive them deep underground, Mr. Fox is every bit as fantastic as the book's title suggests, a cunning and stealthy creature who regularly steals the chickens, ducks, geese and turkeys from the foul farmers, Boggis, Bunce, and Bean, using the wind and his surroundings to avoid detection, and bring food home for his family. Fans of its director, Wes Anderson, will love this special edition, which comes with fantastic (and funny) features, such as an art booklet, an audio recording of Dahl reading the book, and interviews with cast and crew (Fun fact: the Foxes' abode is a miniature set of Dahl's home). The overall look is rich in warm, autumnal colors and thoughtful details. The stop-motion animation is phenomenal with subtle movement that is clever and seamless, and the characters are brilliantly voiced by actors such as George Clooney, Meryl Streep, and Bill Murray. Along with the main plot, there are underlying themes of family and friendship, as well as the dark and macabre flavors that can be expected in a movie based on a Roald Dahl story. Fox and his neighborhood, as the three farmers relentlessly pursue revenge. Though the caper is successful, it creates a world of problems for Mr. Fox plans a major heist on the three meanest farmers: Boggis, Bunce, and Bean. To provide for his family and relieve his own boredom, Mr. He does as his wife asks, but after several years he finds himself unsatisfied.
